He also worked as a manufacturer at General Kinetics Inc. After retirement, he worked part-time driving school vans for the Windber Area School District. Bob was trustee of The John and Ann Koot Foundation, providing seniors transportation free of charge with the Koot Karts. As trustee, Bob oversaw multiple charitable contributions in the Windber community. Bob was an extraordinary family man—the rock of the family—bringing the family together. Importantly, he never missed one of the grandchildren’s various events, sports games, or school functions. He took a lot of pride in his grandchildren. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed racing cars, hunting, shooting, fishing, camping, listening to Polka Music, bowling, playing the trumpet, and playing Pinochle. He was an active member of the Windber Polish Falcons (Nest 97), the Windber Argument Club, and the Windber, Tire Hill, and Paint Borough Sportsman’s Associations. Bob was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and helped with the parish fish fries and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
