William Click Obituary

CLICK, WILLIAM M., 86, Windber, passed away February 7, 2024. Born January 6, 1938, in Hooversville (Petoria). Preceded in death by mother, Helen Honkus, mother-in-law, Mary Sadlon, and sister, Darlene Harte, and numerous aunts and uncles who he cared deeply for.  Survived by loving wife of 67 years and 71 years of being together, MARIANNE (Tallion) Click.  Children:  VANESSA, wife of Hugh Fisher, LORETTA, wife of the late David Spak, LISA, wife of Philip Petrunak, and VERNON and wife SHERRY (Williams) Click.  Grandchildren:  Cordel McClellan, Allen (Melissa) Strick, Chelsi (Samuel) Janisko, Philip “Josh” (Jess) Petrunak, Carissa McClellan, Shane (Leah) Petrunak, Hailee (Amanda) Click, Mason Click, Bryce (Roni) Spak and Daisy Click.  Great Grandchildren:   Cole Strick, Dalton Strick, Rorik Petrunak, Issac Janisko, Kimber Strick, Graham Janisko, Vance Merriman, Shawn Murray, Blaine Murray, Max Janisko, Isla Janisko, Aurora Petrunak, and coming soon… Amelia Petrunak and Elliana Sage Petrunak.  Also survived by sister, Madeline Vespe. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. He started working with Frank Honkus Construction, constructing new homes for over 10 years. He then worked as a coal miner at Island Creek, Lunar Coal Mine and Longwall until 1987. He then started a masonary construction business with his beloved #1 son Vernon (William M. Click & Son).  Bill retired in 2003 and started doing his favorite things in life. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.  His wife was always his top priority and their love for each other was an inspiration to all.  Unfortunately, Marianne was diagnosed with Parkinsons and needed special care which facilitated her need to go into a nursing home.  Bill showed his love and devotion to his cherished wife by visiting with her almost daily; even if only to sit quietly and hold hands.  Bill loved to go fishing, and before Marianne’s illness they would often travel and fish together.  He was an awesome “crappie” fisherman.  He would often go fishing with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, his cousin, Mike Honkus, and his lifelong friend and classmate, Les Jacobs.  But his favorite fishing partner after his wife was his beloved daughter, Lisa.  They enjoyed spending time out on the water together fishing.  And sometimes, he would make a competition of it, and if anyone out fished him, they were not invited along next time. He also enjoyed attending baseball games of his grandchildren and great grandchildren in and out of state with his beloved daughter, Loretta.  Bill was the rock of the family.  His love of his wife and family was abundantly clear.  Bill was an avid Duck Pin bowler who even scored a 289 one time at Imperial Lanes.  He was a member of the Windber Polish Falcons (Nest 97) where he had so many friends who truly cared for him.  Bill was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber where he helped with the parish fish fries and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2024. Interment, St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber. Friends received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Online condolences may be offered at (Kisielfh.com).
